TOEFL iBT Prep with a Personal 1-to-1 Assistant
The TOEFL iBT from ETS is a widely accepted English test for university admission, scholarships, professional licensing and some visa routes. It measures how well you read, listen, speak and write English in academic and everyday contexts.
FoxyCert offers TOEFL prep coaching through a personal 1-to-1 assistant on Telegram. One package, all services included until you reach your target, and you always take the test yourself.
Who takes the TOEFL iBT?
TOEFL is used by students applying to universities in the United States, Canada, the UK, Europe and Asia, as well as by professionals applying for licensing and some immigration programmes. Before you choose between TOEFL and another test, confirm which tests and minimum scores each of your target institutions accepts.
The updated TOEFL iBT format
ETS introduced a revised TOEFL iBT in January 2026. The test still covers four sections – Reading, Listening, Writing and Speaking – but it is shorter than the previous version, uses adaptive sections for Reading and Listening, and includes newer task types that reflect real academic and everyday communication.
Scoring has also changed. Results are reported on a new 1–6 band scale aligned with the CEFR, and ETS has said it will report the familiar 0–120 total alongside it during a transition period. Because the format is new, always check the official ETS TOEFL website for current task types, timings, fees and how your target institutions will read the new scores.
You can typically take the test at a test centre or at home through the TOEFL iBT Home Edition, with strict security and proctoring requirements.
How to prepare: a TOEFL study plan
- Take an official practice test in the current format to find your baseline.
- Learn the new task types and practise each one until the instructions feel automatic.
- Build academic vocabulary and reading speed with short daily sessions.
- Practise speaking with a timer and record yourself to check fluency and organisation.
- Write regularly and get feedback on clarity, structure and accuracy.
- Finish with full timed practice to build stamina and pacing.
Most candidates need several weeks to a few months, depending on their starting level and target.
Common mistakes to avoid
- studying with outdated materials designed for the pre-2026 format
- ignoring speaking practice because it feels uncomfortable
- memorising template answers instead of responding to the actual task
- not checking the Home Edition room and equipment rules in advance
