CCNA Exam Prep with Personal 1-to-1 Coaching
The Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) is the classic starting point for a networking career. It covers how networks are built, addressed, secured and automated, with a strong focus on practical configuration skills.
FoxyCert supports your CCNA preparation with a personal 1-to-1 assistant on Telegram. One package covers everything until you pass, and you sit the CCNA exam yourself.
What is CCNA and who is it for?
CCNA suits aspiring network engineers, help desk and support staff, junior system administrators, and security or cloud professionals who need a solid networking foundation. Even in cloud-heavy organisations, knowing how routing, switching and IP addressing really work is a valuable skill.
Employers value CCNA because it is practical: holders can be expected to read a running configuration, troubleshoot connectivity and explain why traffic takes a particular path. It also prepares you for the CCNP tracks and for specialist areas such as network security, wireless and data centre networking.
CCNA exam format and topics
The CCNA is a single exam (200-301 at the time of writing) lasting 120 minutes. It includes multiple-choice, drag-and-drop and simulation-style items. The blueprint covers:
- Network Fundamentals – models, cabling, IPv4 and IPv6 addressing, subnetting
- Network Access – VLANs, trunking, spanning tree, wireless
- IP Connectivity – routing tables, static routing, OSPF
- IP Services – NAT, DHCP, DNS, NTP, QoS concepts
- Security Fundamentals – ACLs, port security, VPN and wireless security concepts
- Automation and Programmability – controllers, APIs, JSON, configuration management
Cisco does not publish a fixed question count, and it revises the blueprint periodically. Check the current CCNA exam topics on the Cisco Learning Network before you begin.
CCNA requirements
There are no formal prerequisites. Cisco suggests some experience implementing and administering networks, and an understanding of IP addressing helps enormously. The certification is valid for three years and can be renewed through continuing education credits or by passing qualifying exams.
How to prepare: a CCNA study plan
- Master subnetting early. It appears across many topics, and speed matters.
- Lab everything. Use Cisco Packet Tracer or another simulator to configure VLANs, OSPF, ACLs and NAT until the commands feel natural.
- Study one domain at a time and finish each with practice questions.
- Add automation basics such as reading JSON and understanding REST APIs.
- Finish with timed practice exams to build pacing.
Many candidates need 3–4 months of part-time study; those with networking experience may need less.
How FoxyCert's 1-to-1 assistant helps
Your personal assistant on Telegram sets weekly goals, explains topics such as spanning tree or OSPF neighbour states, suggests lab exercises, reviews your mistakes and keeps you moving. Every service stays included until you pass, and you always sit your own exam.
Frequently asked questions
Is the CCNA exam hard?
It is a substantial exam with a broad syllabus and practical questions. Candidates who practise in labs and drill subnetting usually find it fair.
How long does it take to study for CCNA?
Three to four months of steady part-time study is typical for newcomers. Experienced network staff may prepare faster.
Can I pass CCNA without real equipment?
Yes. Simulators such as Cisco Packet Tracer cover most of what you need. Real equipment is helpful but not essential.
Is CCNA still worth it in 2026?
Networking underpins cloud, security and automation, so CCNA remains a respected foundation and a common requirement for network engineering roles.
What comes after CCNA?
Common next steps include CCNP Enterprise or Security, cloud certifications, or security credentials such as Security+ and later CISSP, depending on your career direction.
