CEH Certified Ethical Hacker Exam Prep with a Personal Assistant

The Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) from EC-Council validates your understanding of how attackers think and operate, so you can find and fix weaknesses legally and responsibly. It covers reconnaissance, scanning, system hacking, web and wireless attacks, cloud, IoT and more.

FoxyCert prepares you for CEH with a personal 1-to-1 assistant on Telegram. One package, all services included until you pass, and you always sit the CEH exam yourself.

What is CEH and who is it for?

CEH suits security analysts, SOC staff, network and system administrators, junior penetration testers and IT auditors who want a structured overview of offensive security techniques. It is recognised by many employers and appears in some government and defence role requirements.

The latest versions also cover how artificial intelligence is changing both attack and defence. Ethical hacking always means working with explicit authorisation, within scope and under the law, and the course and exam reflect that.

CEH exam format

The CEH knowledge exam has typically been 125 multiple-choice questions in four hours. The passing score is set per exam form rather than fixed, so it can vary. EC-Council also offers CEH Practical, a hands-on exam of around six hours with challenges in a live lab environment. Candidates who pass both earn the CEH Master designation.

Topics usually include:

  • footprinting, reconnaissance and scanning
  • enumeration, vulnerability analysis and system hacking
  • malware, sniffing, social engineering and denial of service
  • web application, wireless, mobile, IoT and cloud security
  • cryptography

EC-Council updates CEH versions regularly. Confirm the current version, blueprint and exam details on the EC-Council website.

CEH eligibility requirements

EC-Council generally offers two routes: complete official training through EC-Council or an accredited partner, or apply with evidence of at least two years of information security work experience and pay an eligibility application fee. Rules, fees and approval times can change, so check the official eligibility policy before you register.

How to prepare: a CEH study plan

  1. Build the fundamentals: networking, Linux and Windows basics, and common protocols.
  2. Work through the modules one at a time and connect each technique to its defensive countermeasure.
  3. Practise in legal lab environments such as the official labs or your own isolated virtual machines – never against systems you do not own or have permission to test.
  4. Learn the tools by purpose: know which tool fits which phase, such as Nmap for scanning or Wireshark for packet analysis.
  5. Finish with timed practice to handle 125 questions comfortably.

Many candidates prepare in 8–12 weeks; those new to networking may need longer.

How FoxyCert's 1-to-1 assistant helps

Your personal assistant on Telegram creates a module-by-module plan, explains attack techniques alongside the controls that stop them, suggests safe lab exercises and reviews your practice results. Support continues until you pass, and you sit your own exam.

Frequently asked questions

Is the CEH exam hard?

The knowledge exam is broad rather than extremely deep. Candidates with networking and security basics find it manageable with steady study; CEH Practical is more demanding because it is hands-on.

CEH or OSCP+: which is better?

CEH gives a broad, structured overview and is often requested in job descriptions. OSCP+ is a much more practical penetration testing exam. Many people start with CEH or Security+ and move to OSCP+ later.

How long does it take to prepare for CEH?

Eight to twelve weeks of part-time study is common. Hands-on lab time makes the concepts stick and shortens revision.

Is CEH worth it in 2026?

It remains widely recognised, especially in HR filters and some government roles. Pair it with practical lab experience to get the most value.

Do I need programming skills for CEH?

Deep programming is not required, but being able to read simple scripts and understand command-line output helps a great deal.
